The Senior Civil Engineer will provide the specific expertise within the onshore and nearshore part of the subsea desalination system design, construction and installation for projects carried out by the company.

The Project Execution Team is responsible for multiple technical disciplines within the Design, Fabrication & Construction activities, including but not limited to preparation of documentation for the different stages of technical development. As part of the Project Execution Team the Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for, leading & producing deliverables in support of the Research and Development, bids for and/or projects.

Job responsibilities:

•    Develop technical definitions and requirements for procurement packages and lead them based on technical or project support.
•    Internal and external Interface between subsea and onshore technical and commercial disciplines across the full onshore and subsea supply chain system.
•    Responsible for proactive quality, risk and HSE follow up throughout the tasks.
•    Developing the Civil Engineering Marine & Onshore works documentation required for the desalination plant, eg. conceptual engineering design reports, specifications, scopes of work etc.
•    Following up the technical development of the terrestrial/onshore part of the desalination plant.
•    Develop ideas and strategies to optimize cost, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
•    Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake technical performance reviews to ensure technical compliance and design to value improvement activities.
•    Assess bids technically and commercially in detail from potential suppliers.
•    Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials.
•    Strong interest in innovation and technical development within multiple technical disciplines associated with the desalination industry.
•    Liaise and cooperate with Project Execution Team to ensure coordination of interfaces, timelines and costing.

Your experience and qualifications:

•    Master’s degree within Civil Engineering (Buildings/Marine Works) or Mechanical Engineering
•    Minimum 10 years of relevant experience within the Civil & Mechanical Design, Fabrication and Civil Construction
•    Lead experience within desalination or nearshore marine projects considered an advantage
•    Team player with the ability to both lead work independently and proactively, applying a structured and systematic approach.
•    Strong communication skills, ability to ask relevant questions and provide thorough technical explanations.
•    Deliver in a high pressure, dynamic, fast pace technical environment & high-quality work on time
•    Ability to work in a multidisciplinary / multinational environment / Fluency in English
•    Excellent managerial skills & ability to think strategically including risk mitigation.
•    Good exposure to Desalination Onshore & Nearshore Marine Projects
•    Fluency of ERP systems, and strong competency in Microsoft Office In depth knowledge of the relevant requirements of the classification and verification societies, environmental regulations and international rules and regulations & fluent in English (oral and written)
•    In depth technical knowledge within Civil Engineering Design & Construction onsite/locations
