Techconsult is the link between jobs and professionals. For one of our customers we are now looking for a Senior pipe stress engineer

Job responsibilities:

•    Identify and select stress critical lines from Process P&IDs based on NORSOK guidelines.
•    Perform comprehensive stress analysis on critical piping systems on an offshore oil & gas platform such as compressor and pump lines, flare systems, flow-lines etc by use of Caesar II software.
•    Through visual checks or by hand calculations, identify flexibility and pipe support requirements for non-critical lines.
•    Perform detailed checking of calculations made by other stress engineers.
•    Maintain close cooperation with other disciplines such as piping layout, pipe supports, structural, construction etc in implementing an optimal design.
•    Perform calculations and qualify various piping components including flanges, fittings and nozzles as per relevant standards such as ASME, API, NEMA-SM23.
•    Perform dynamic calculations involving slugging, surge, fatigue.
•    Perform screening exercises for potential vibrations in all systems and implement mitigating solutions.

 
Required Education:

•    Bachelor or Master degree

Required Work Experience:

•    Minimum 12 years EPC new build experience. Offshore design experience preferred.
•    Knowledge of Finite element analysis software will be an advantage, but is not a pre requisite.
•    Experienced user of Caesar II software for stress calculations.

Required Qualifications: 

•    Good knowledge of several required standards such as API, ASME, NEMA-SM23, etc.
•    Good knowledge and experience in Norwegian standards (NORSOK, DNV) and Client Technical Requirements is highly preferred. 
•    Good multi discipline understanding.
•    Cooperative working attitude and acceptance of multicultural working teams.
•    Good English communication skills required.

To be accepted as a candidate you must be located within EU – preferable in Norway. Important with valid work permit for Norway if not located in Norway.
