Techconsult is the link between jobs and professionals. For one of our customers we are now looking for a Piping Engineering – Senior/Principal Engineer

Job responsibilities:

• Calculate and establish pipe class sheets & work instructions & Guidelines. Check calculations, pipe class sheets and its components.
• Follow-up on changes to International Standards and Aibel and/or Client Specifications.
• Assist/comments to Piping documentation, technical requisitions, purchase orders: check supplier documentation according to specifications (piping components, valve interface, instrument interface), check piping interface to equipment packages, input/ checking of P&ID’s( spec breaks, PDS), etc.
• Development of PDS.
• Assist in all technical issues on general level. Evaluate and respond to technical queries.
• Participate in new greenfield projects in different design phases.
• Contribute to the improvement and further development in the Piping Engineering Department.
• Multidiscipline pro-active interaction, seeking advice/share experience.
• Piping Design if required.

Your qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Minimum 10-15 years of EPC greenfield task work experience on offshore and or onshore Oil and Gas- or as a piping/stress/material engineer.
• General experience in piping engineering, including piping component calculations according to ASME/EN.
• Experience in riser / flow-line calculations to ASME/DNV, including piggability and 5D bends is preferred.
• Experience in selection of high pressure connectors i.e. Mechanical hubs/joints etc.
• Experience in work with PCS, PDS, VDS, MDS.
• Experience in high pressure piping and steam piping is preferred.
• Calculation experience. Candidates with experience with Calculation of Pipe Classes(min. 5-10 years). Internal and external pressure and branch reinforcement calculations will be preferred.
• Experience in AVEVA E3D design.
• Comprehensive understanding of International Standards ( EN, ASME, ASTM, DNV, API), Norwegian Acts and Regulations(Trykkdirektivet/PED) and Project Specifications. Familiar with NORSOK.
• Knowledge of Asme B31.3, Asme B31.8, Asme B31.12, Asme VIII and Subsea.
• Good knowledge of process and flow diagrams.
• Good coordination skills between all disciplines and good presentation skills within teamwork.
• Systematic, multidiscipline understanding and solution oriented approach.
• Have a cooperative working attitude and be systematic, accurate and detail-focused.
• Intercultural competence and acceptance for multicultural working teams.
• Skilled in excel.
• IT experience, coding/programming skills is preferred but not required.
• Good communication skills both orally and in writing
• Good Norwegian and/or good English language skills in both orally and writing is required.
• Good information skills.
